Listening to music is great on your iPhone, but it can get really expensive if you buy everything through iTunes. One of the many solutions to this is BearShare. This is a legal P2P MP3 downloading network that has thousands of songs just waiting to be downloaded. There is one problem that keeps some people from getting the songs on their iPhone. The iPhone only syncs with songs in iTunes. While some earlier versions of the iPhone can directly integrate with BearShare, you will commonly have to manually import the music into iTunes before you upload the MP3s to your iPhone.

Don’t worry. The whole process is very simple, and you can commonly get it done within a few seconds.

Direct Connection

This method bypasses iTunes, and it works with some of the earlier iPhone versions. If this method doesn’t work for you, then there is no cause for alarm. The direct connection method is easier because you don’t have to manually import songs, and the MP3s will go directly from BearShare to your iPhone.

Connect your iPhone to the computer and turn on BearShare. If the connection works, then you should see the name of your iPhone with a green light near it. If that doesn’t work, then turn BearShare off and disconnect your iPhone.
You should click the “Eject” button in the BearShare application before unplugging the iPhone. This ensures that your iPhone will not lose any data when you unplug it.

Turn on BearShare and connect the iPhone to your computer after the program is loaded. If this doesn’t work, then you should uninstall BearShare. Reinstall it, and try connecting the iPhone before and after BearShare loads.
If the iPhone still does not connect with BearShare, then move on to the next method.

Manual Importing

This is the method that most people with modern iPhones will have to use. It takes a little longer, and it can get a little irritating, but this method is easy and only takes a few seconds to do.

Open up the BearShare folder. If you are using Windows XP, then you will find this in the “My Music” folder within “My Documents.” If you are using Windows Vista or 7, then you will find this folder within the “Music” folder. This can be found in the folder named after your computer.

Open up the iTunes application. You do not need to have the iPhone connected right now unless you want to upload the songs after importing the BearShare MP3 files. You will see all your BearShare MP3 files within this folder. Highlight every file, or jus the ones you want to put on your iPhone, and drag them into the main portion of the iTunes window. You should see a plus sign icon. Let go of your mouse to initiate the transfer. The computer will start loading all of the BearShare MP3 files into your iTunes account. This process can take several seconds or hours, depending on how many files you are uploading. Just wait until the upload is finished.

Plug the iPhone into the computer when you are ready to add the BearShare files into your iPhone. The computer will automatically sync the two, so all of the files you added will be placed into your iPhone.

The most annoying aspect of this method is that you need to constantly update your iTunes account whenever you download new files from BearShare. This is because the two applications do not work together. Whenever you download a new MP3, you should drag and drop it into iTunes to ensure it has all of your latest songs.

Conclusion

BearShare is a great program for downloading MP3s for free. While it can be a little annoying to manually upload the files into iTunes, the work needed is minimal. This should only take a few seconds to do before you can enjoy all the great songs you found on BearShare.

Some people jokingly say they are addicted to their iPhone, while other people really are addicted. If you fit into any of these warning signs, then you may need a little time away from your iPhone. Just put it down, remember there is a life outside the iPhone and don’t come back until you’ve gone outside and talked with some friends (not through a text or instant message).

Constantly Checking Status

Are you checking your email and everyone’s online status as much as possible with your iPhone? Do you feel a cold sweat when you find someone updated their status and you didn’t know about it the second it happened? Also, do you have ringers and sounds set for every update imaginable?

People are interesting, but don’t let a bunch of updates on your iPhone make you into a nervous wreck.

FaceTime Replaces Talking

Seeing a spouse or child over FaceTime when you are away for any reason is a great way to stay connected with friends and family. But, if you prefer using FaceTime over actually talking with people, then you may have a slight case of iPhone addiction. Just put it down and talk to a real person. You’ll notice the difference.

Messaging People in the Room

Maybe FaceTime isn’t your thing. But how about this: have you ever sent an instant message to someone who is in the same room as you? Doing it as a joke is one thing, but it’s a problem if you seriously prefer to talk through an instant messenger rather than speaking.

Maxed Out Card

Do you scour the App Store for every new app? Also, do you buy a new app just because it is new and your iPhone needs to have ever app imaginable? Some people have seriously maxed out their credit cards just to buy iPhone apps, and if that doesn’t sound like an iPhone addiction, then nothing does.

Waterproof Cases and Excessive Protection

Getting a waterproof case and excessive protective accessories to keep your iPhone safe is one thing. Getting a waterproof case and protection to bring the iPhone along with you in ridiculous places (i.e., in the shower, to the pool, to the beach) is another. This is a surefire warning sign that you and your iPhone are spending way too much time together. Try leaving your phone at home sometime, it won’t kill you.

Overly Pimped Out

Basic accessories for protection aside, do you spend more money and effort pimping out your iPhone than on yourself? Or worse, does your bedroom and/or car look like a pigsty while your iPhone is bedazzled, bluetoothed, speaker-jacked, and has every customizable feature and iPhone accessory possible? Then you’re probably thinking too much about your iPhone and not enough about everything else in life that needs attention.

Turning Down Friends

Have you ever turned down going out with friends just to play games on your iPhone? This can be a major problem, because humans need social interaction. Next time your friends go out somewhere, be it a bar or restaurant, just put the iPhone down and go out with them. Even if you don’t like the place, it’s better to be with people and not machines.

Compulsive Unlocking

Do you ever pick up and unlock your iPhone for no other reason than to make sure it is OK? Some people do this when they first get the iPhone because it is a novelty. If you have had an iPhone for over a month and still find your heart racing just to unlock it for no reason, then you might have a problem.

Nightmares

Speaking about closing your eyes, have you had any nightmares about losing your iPhone? This is even worse if they are recurring nightmares and you wake up to clutch your iPhone in your hands. Definitely a sign of either an iPhone addiction, or some other psychological messiness you should look into. It’s terrible to lose an iPhone, but it’s not worth losing sleep over.

No Service

Some people hate losing service because they use their iPhone for work, and others lose their mind and start hyperventilating when they can’t check Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. If you find yourself irrational when you don’t have service, then maybe a little iPhone divorce should be in the making.

Conclusion

These are the top 10 signs that you are addicted to your iPhone. If you experience any of these signs, or a combination of them, then it’s probably time to put the iPhone down and remind yourself that life exists outside the iOS. Talk with some friends, go out on a date or just have fun without staring at the little screen.

It seems like there are new speculations about Apple and its products on the rumor mill every day. Lately, we’ve been hearing a lot about a possible iPad Mini. Similar to the iPod Nano, the Mini would be the iPad, just smaller and with possibly less features.

Apparently, Apple has been playing around with the iPad’s size since 2009, anywhere from 4″ to 12″. Rumor has it that the iPad Mini, if it ever graces us with its presence, will be just under 8″.

Many manufacturers of the iPad’s competition are hoping Apple doesn’t go through with the Mini. If it has a cheaper price tag and can do most of the stuff regular-sized iPads can do, it may decrease their profits. People love the iPad—they just don’t love the price, which is why some have turned to alternate tablets. If Apple launches a Mini comparable to the price of other tablets on the market, it may easily become king.

Here are our five of our predictions for the iPad Mini.

1. It will launch in 2013.

We’re guessing that since the rumors have been around for a while, and since Apple is focusing on upgrading their iMacs and MacBook Pros as well as the launch of the iPhone 5, we’re guessing the iPad Mini will be the focus for 2013. Since Apple tends to launch their new products in June, it looks like June 2013 will be our delivery date.

2. It will be smaller than 8″.

The rumors have stated that if the Mini does become available, it will be slightly under 8″, but to us, slightly under 8″ doesn’t seem THAT small to be dubbed a Mini. Though it still needs to be bigger than a phone, we’re guessing the Mini may clock in somewhere between 6″ and 7″. This will allow it to be bigger than the iPhone, but drastically smaller than current iPads.

3. It will have Siri.

Since the Mini will be small enough to carry in one’s pocket, we’re thinking it should incorporate Siri. If iPhone owners can have it, why can’t iPad Mini owners have it too?

4. It will be able to do something the iPhone can’t do.

Since we’re guessing that Apple won’t launch a Mini until sometime in 2013, that gives them over one year to make it capable of something magical that the current iPhones (and even the iPhone 5) won’t be able to do. If it doesn’t, the only thing that will make it different than an iPhone is it will be bigger and you wouldn’t make regular phone calls with it. We’re not saying that an iPad Mini wouldn’t generate enough interest on its own, we’re just thinking it needs to harbor some type of element that will get people to crave it.

5. It won’t be called the iPad Mini.

Everyone speculated the latest edition to the iPad family was going to follow suit and be dubbed the iPad 3. Instead, Apple went a new route and named it “the new iPad”. Everyone thought the iPhone 5 was launching last summer. Instead, Apple launched the iPhone 4S. It seems that every time the rumor mill starts talking about Apple’s new product, Apple changes the name. We’re thinking they’ll go with “the small iPad”, to coincide with “the new iPad”.
Those are our five predictions on the iPad Mini. Maybe we’ll be right. Maybe we’ll be wrong. Only time will tell.

Today’s children are exposed to such a high level of technology at a young age, and most will agree that technology gadgets, including the iPhone, have become an integral part in the lives of many children. And while all parents want to be able to trust their children’s use of technology, kids by and large do not have the maturity or self-control required to properly use such devices. A smartphone will open up two worlds to a child: the good and the bad one. It is important that parents understand their kids’ cell phone usage to avoid any bad surprises.

A New Cell Phone Spy Software

One new development in smartphone technology that responds to parents’ concerns regarding their children’s use of smartphones is Mobile Spy, an award-winning iPhone Monitoring application that has been featured on major media channels such as CNN, Forbes and PC World. Mobile Spy enables parents to track all their children’s iPhone activities, in total secrecy, and it runs smoothly in the background and your children will never know about it.

Mobile-Spy Will Outsmart Even The Trickiest Child

With any iPhone, children can make and receive calls and texts along with Internet access. While it may be simple for parents to disable the Wi-Fi function or enable restrictions with a password on the iPhone, many tech-savvy children and teenagers are capable of toggling the Wi-Fi settings or find some other way to bypass restrictions. With Mobile Spy, parents can keep track of this behavior and divert any attempts their children make to override settings for internet usage.

Mobile-Spy Will Help Prevent Unsafe Usage

For individual and family plans, parents can easily monitor the date, minute and text usage of their children. However, phone bills do not provide details such as time stamps of calls and content of texts, so parents cannot know if children are calling friends during forbidden hours or if they’re hanging out with the wrong circle of people. With Mobile-Spy, parents can see all of the data within their child’s phone, including their child’s texts, calling history, contacts list, live GPS location, app downloads, primary e-mail, web site visits and uploaded photos and videos.

Mobile-Spy Manages App and Other Internet Downloading

The greatest concern to parents is the usage of mobile apps and the Internet on the iPhone. Many minors might have their parent’s credit card account on file in their iTunes account, and while some parents trust their children to use the credit card wisely, other children are undisciplined and purchase whatever catches their interest. The danger of apps is optional in-app purchases, such as unlocking secret characters and disabling advertisements, commonly found in games. With the comprehensive monitoring technology in the Mobile-Spy software, parents can stay on top of their child’s app purchases and prevent overspending on unnecessary, or even inappropriate apps.

Mobile-Spy Can Save Your Child’s Life

While many of the above benefits of Mobile-Spy software probably might not impress the more liberal and optimistic parents who would rather not impinge on their children’s privacy, one of the truly remarkable features of Mobile-Spy is its ability to track the phone holder’s live GPS location. In the most unfortunate circumstance that your child is lost (or worse), the Mobile-Spy offers the life-saving benefit of this live GPS location function, as well as the benefit of enabling the users to track SMS messages and calls by silently recording them and then uploading the data to a private Mobile Spy secure online account, where valuable information about the child’s whereabouts would be stored for retrieval.

Temple Run appeared to little fanfare back in August 2011. It is a game in which the player takes control of an explorer attempting to flee the ruins of a temple, stolen idol in hand. With just four moves possible – left, right, jump and duck – the game is simple to understand and easy to play. Complicating matters are an array of hazards along the way, including sharp turns, sudden drops, low hanging trees and barriers of fire – not to mention the pack of demonic monkeys in close pursuit!

Originally an iOS game – available on the iPod, iPhone and iPad – it didn’t make much of an impact at first. Typical of some big App Store successes like Angry Birds, it cost $0.99. It didn’t make much of an impact at the time, so a little over a month later, the developers – Imangi Studios – tried the seemingly counter-intuitive move of making the game entirely free to download and play.

Supported by the ‘freemium’ model – free to play but with the option to use real-world money to purchase in-game coins – the game soon shot to the top of the charts in several countries, immediately quadrupling the developers’ revenue. This model looks to be the way forward for game makers wanting to produce the next big hit, but it of course carries a certain risk that no money will be brought in at all.

The sudden popularity of the game persuaded the developers to create an unplanned Android version, which was released in March 2012. The Android version looks to have been a good idea because it passed 10 million downloads in under a month. This, despite some initial teething troubles with many users reporting the game ran slowly or had glitches rendering it unplayable. Officially compatible with over 700 Android models on release, recent updates have increased that number and have fixed most of the reported issues. The latest update has added the seemingly ubiquitous Twitter integration – a feature yet to make it to the original Apple version. It’s taken the iOS version eight months to reach the staggering figure of 60 million downloads, and it will be interesting to see if they can surpass that figure on Google’s platform.

The recently announced tie in with Spin Master will see Temple Run branded card and board games appearing in retail stores, continuing the growth of this brand to new heights.

This article was contributed by Temple Run Online, where you can find more news and tips about the game.
